In science success is measured by the impact you have on existing knowledge, as well as technology, people and whatever else you may be affecting. The way to measure this is by producing papers, which are long essays or reports about your work. Others read those and use your results in their research.

So the more papers you publish the more successful you are. I have published 3 papers so far, which is not bad for somebody in my position. But I also think that I am successful because my work could have an influence on how mobile phones are designed.

I get to work my own hours, on projects that I want to work and find interesting. I am paid to do this and my travel expenses are covered. I get to work with kids, video games and learn about psychology. So I think I am very successful because this is everything I wanted out of a career when I was younger!
