  The prehistory and history of people living in China goes waaaay back and we can’t know for sure who was the first to live there – we know there were hominids there as long as 1.3 million years ago! As for China itself, I guess you could put one date down as the unification under the Qin (pronounced “chin”) empire in 221BC (as a reference, the Roman Empire was formed in 44BC) – so maybe the first “chinese” was the emperor himself Qin Shi Huang, born in 259BC!
