• Question: why did neal armstrong decided to go on the moon

      America and Russia were both trying to get a manned mission to the moon.
      America won the race.
      As our nearest celestial body, the moon was an easy choice for a manned mission.
      As for Amstrong, I guess he was the right person in the right place. He must have applied to be on the mission and trained for it.
