Off the top of my head… because sharks have to constantly keep moving in the water (or they’ll die!) they can’t sleep like we do. They have to sleep while swimming for a few seconds at a time. (Probably why they’re so angry all the time). The same thing will happen to us eventually as well, if we go a day or two without sleep will start to shut down for a few milliseconds at a time.

There are some animals that don’t sleep (not like we do anyway) but do require some kind of ‘off’ time.

Apparently Giraffes only sleep for 5 minutes at a time, 6 times a day!

All animals need to sleep in order to give their brains to time to recover. Without sleep an animal cannot survive.

Some animals can actually shut down half of their brain and use the other half to warn them of any danger. So they get some rest but are able to get out of dangerous situations at the same time.
