• Question: As I recall, moores law essentially states that processing power doubles every 18 months. Could, theoretically, a computer advance so far as to be capable of running a complete simulated replication of a persons personality? Or further, like a simulation of actual reality? (like 'The Matrix' or something :D)

Absolutely. The thing with Moore’s law is that it is leading us to a ‘technological singularity’. At this point in society we will have developed super intelligence and the rate of technological change and scientific break through will be so rapid that we will be unable to meaningfully predict anything!

With the current generation of technology, such as virtual environments and digital neural interfaces (headsets that allow you to interact directly with computers just by thinking), The Matrix is most certainly possible!
