No, I always had an interest of how everything works in the world around me. I loved all sorts of subjects at school including biology, geography and maths (though I was never a big fan of physics). IT has always fascinated me to find out about things and to get answers to all the questions I had on how the planet I live on works.

But I think sometimes science can be boring. For me it was not because I had a question I wanted an answer to, something that I could relate to. But when science is explained outside any context and a student doesn’t know why it is important or relevant, science is pretty boring. So if you find science boring just ask your teacher to explain something in relation to something that interests you. Practical experiments and examples are always great and once science is hands on it is a lot more exciting!

No, I have always had an interest in science. I always liked to understand how things work. My parents had lots of difficult questions when I grew up.
I still remember some of the school projects we had in the science classes.

I thought science was hugely boring until year 4 or 5. I remember that all I cared about as a subject was history and I hated the maths and science lessons. At the same time, though, I was always really into making up some drawing of some invention or other, and I loved trying (and regularly failing) to make mechanical copies of the “live” stuff I’d find in the garden.
At some point I must have realised that what they were teaching me at school could help with my doodles- so I doodled a bit less and listened a little bit more! I still found it frustrating though when I would secretly open up a radio or a telephone after a physics lesson and find out it wasn’t really as simple as I was told it was, but this is probably the best part about science – the more you learn the more you know how much you don’t know at all! It’s great and it keeps making you want to learn more!
