• Question: Do you ever feel under pressure to make sure your experiments go right?

      All the time! You can never be sure that everything turns out the way you expect it, but thankfully even if it does go wrong I can still use the outcome of an experiment, as it will teach me something. But hopefully that shouldn’t happen.

      We try to think about experiments in the first place a lot, to get them right. There is a lot of guidance on how to design experiments and I can ask my colleagues for advise if I have a question or get stuck on something. I also pilot my experiments. That means you test them before running them on a big scale. That way you can find out if everything is as expected or not and make changes if necesary before continuing.
