• Question: do you have a best friend and who is it???

      I have a number of really good friends, but I wouldn’t say one of them is my best friend (it would just offend the others 🙂 ). One of my friends, Corina, I have known since I was 7 years old and we went to school together. We don’t see each other very often now but when we do it is like no time has passed at all. George is also a very good friend of mine. I met him at uni. And Emily, who is also a scientist, is my closest friend at work.

      I have a number of very close friends. Ranking them is a bit hard.
      Some of them I met through my work (colleagues, former students) and others through my social activities.

      I guess the one who I could name without upsetting all the others is Giacomo, who I know since I was born! He’s a social scientist now – he studies the way groups of people act and work – and he lives back in Genoa, my home town in Italy. He should be coming over in the next few weeks to visit, and I’m really looking forward to that.
