• Question: How difficult was it to get a science job because your a woman?

      I think it probably used to be quite discriminatory against women, especially in subjects such as engineering and software engineering, but now things seem to be pretty equal (all my classes have had a good ratio!)

      As a woman I don’t think it is necessarily harder to get into science. You still see that some subjects are dominated by men such as engineering and computer science and some are dominated by women such as education and nursing. That is probably down to personaly and what we are good at.
      But I think there are still some prejudices when you apply for a job anywhere as a woman. If you have the same qualifications as a man that has also applied most people will still favour the man over the woman. So it’s important that you are at the top of your game!
