      Nice question with unfortunately no definite answer.
      Stephen Hawking, a great theoretical physicist, is studying the theoretical possibility of multiple (infinite) many universes using something called M and string theory. He wrote a nice book called “The universe in a nutshell” which explains this concepts to a wider audience.
