Angry Birds was created by a Finnish company Rovio and it was actually the 50th game they developed.
It was developed for the iPhone originally and was focused around a simple brand identity – Birds that are Angry. For the game itself they added a simple ‘physics engine’. Although the birds, pigs and building blocks don’t act like they would in the real world, the physics engine dictates consistent rules for gravity and acceleration etc. It took around 8 to 9 months to develop and it currently clocks up 200 million minutes of play time every day!
