I am not sure of the exact overall ratio, but I believe that gender bias still exists in universities just like it does in other places. It also depends on the subject area. In my research group we actually have an equal split and the head of the department is female. But in other areas such as engineering you find a lot more males.
It will depend on from discipline to discipline and from region to region. There are not very few female computer scientist in Europe, North America and Asia but from what colleagues told me that there are more female computer scientist.
Totally agree with Claudia and Marina, generally speaking computer science has more males than females but this is very subject dependent. When you move towards the humanities and social sciences the ratio tips to favor female researchers.
