• Question: what skills do you need to be a scientist?

      The most important skill to have is curiosity. All people have that to an extent but if you don’t really want to find out about the world around you and continuously ask questions you probably would be no good as a scientist. You also need decent marks at school so you can go to university and do a degree there, which is necessary if you want to become a scientist.

      To Claudia’s answer I would add tenacity, being able to continue when things are difficult or go wrong. As a scientist you encounter dead-ends or experiments fail. You have to be able to pick up the pieces as start anew.
