Interesting question.
There is always a possibility. In the next hundred or so years we will have some very difficult problems to solve. Large population, reduced natural resources, climate change. Our survival will depend on how well we manage to solve these problems.
Longer term, it will depend on how well be evolve as a species. Maybe in billions of years, our ancestors might not recognise us any more.
Ye, of course we will. Our world is slowly degenerating due to the amount of greenhouse gases, pollution and several other things. Scientists are always coming up with ideas to stop or change this process, but it is enevitable. With such delicate bodies, it will be hard for us to adapt to this change, so the chances are that our bodies won’t metamorphisise in time.
